Hemophiliacs Infected with AIDS due to Factor III Manufactured by Bayer Pharmaceutical Conglomerate
Lawyer Chang Attorneys at Law have been mandated by a group of local hemophiliacs infected with AIDS due to the use of Factor III that was manufactured by the Bayer pharmaceutical conglomerate. |

| Substantial legal step has been made regarding fifty-three hemophiliacs infected with AIDS due to Factor III manufactured by the Bayer pharmaceutical company. In this regard, Kathy Chang, Director of Lawyerchang Law Firm, says that they have cooperated with McNicholas & McNicholas and Zarate & Vega Law Firms to file the complaints against Bayer Conglomerate for damage claims. This is the first international lawsuit filed on behalf of seven of the fifty-three plaintiffs in the past twenty years. One of seven plaintiffs is a hemophiliac infected with AIDs. |
Other plaintiffs are family members of deceased hemophiliacs and one of whom was infected with the killer virus. Attorney Chang says this legal action is to win justice for these patients and express strong indignation against Bayer Pharmaceuticals. In particular, she says Bayer Pharmaceuticals must shoulder their legal liability for the mental anguish inflicted on these plaintiffs and family members. Oct-28-2003

| Bayer Pharmaceutical Conglomerate knowingly bought the blood from high-risk groups (prisoners and the homeless). They processed these blood samples without properly heated and mixed them with the blood from normal persons, which led to the manufacture of contaminated Factor III. They then sold it on the open market. |
| As a result, many hemophiliacs in Taiwan contracted AIDS. No sooner had US and European countries discovered this, they required Bayer Pharmaceuticals to stop selling unheated Factor III. While they acceded to this request, Bayer Pharmaceuticals continued to sell unheated Factor III stock to citizens of South American and Asian countries who were intentionally kept in the dark. |
| Consequently, hemophiliacs contracting AIDS drastically increased. |
